Save the dates: A host of tennis greats and golf headliners will hit town once again this fall for our 16th annual Alta Bates Summit Celebrity Golf & Tennis Classic, always a popular event. The September 10 golf outing and the September 29 tennis tourney will benefit programs for at-risk youth including Thunder Road, a substance abuse recovery program for teens and their families, and Youth Bridge mentoring programs.

The golf tournament will be held at the picturersque Diablo Country Club and is a perennial sellout. Admission includes a round of golf, lunch, an awards ceremony, and a buffet dinner. (Past years’ celebrities have included Lon Simmons, Vida Blue, and Jimmy Davenport.)

At the world-class extravaganza, tennis headliners will meet for exciting Center Court exhibition matches. (The likes of Rod Laver, Ilie Nastase, Jim Courier, and Tracy Austin have appeared in past years.) The games will be followed by a black tie–optional gala at the Claremont Resort & Spa.
